The Construction of Anti-Erosion Works project concerns the protection and restoration of the forest area at Kryoneri – Drosopigi, which was affected by the devastating wildfire of July 2025. The area forms part of the wider Parnitha ecosystem and is of particular environmental importance, both for its natural regeneration and for protecting nearby settlements and infrastructure from erosion and flooding. TITAN Cement Company S.A. and the Pavlos and Alexandra Kanellopoulos Foundation funded the project, which included anti-erosion and flood-prevention interventions across approximately 1,000 stremmas, helping to stabilise the soil and support the gradual restoration of the natural landscape.
NATURA executed the project on behalf of TITAN Cement Company S.A. and the Pavlos and Alexandra Kanellopoulos Foundation, implementing the restoration works on site in line with the approved studies and the guidance of the relevant forestry services. The project was carried out under the coordination and supervision of the General Secretariat of Forests of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Forests and Forest Environment, the competent Forest Offices and local authorities. For NATURA, participation in a project of this significance reflects the company’s specialist expertise in environmental restoration, soil protection, and support for natural ecosystems following forest wildfires.
